1755 Wide front

I currently have a 1755 with the wide front and would like to convert it over to the wide front that is mounted under the tractor. Is this conversion difficult and what would be the approx. cost for the parts to do this?

I agree with Shep . A friend converted a 1650 underslung to normal wide front end because tractor was cutting groves in hay fields when he made turns and because of rough ride . Change to wide front made the tractor operate a lot better under all conditions and I cannot tell difference in steering . If you did not have power steering it might make a difference , but 1755 , if it is like my 1855 , has good power steering . Sam Mabry

Almost all of the 00- 50- and -55 series tractors will interchange front axles with very little trouble. The conversion you are looking to do should not be hard providing you have a safe way to lift and hold the front of the tractor up. The cost to do this swap should be minimal, or you might even gain some money on this swap if you sell your current front axle. The standard row crop front axle (if that is what you currently have) is worth about twice what the utility or underslung axle is.

So I guess my question to you is why do you want to make this conversion??? Most people are converting the other way. The underslung axle makes a shorter wheelbase on the tractor resulting in a rougher ride, it changes the balence of the tractor causing more nose bob, and it turns sharper rooting up fields easier. The standard row crop wide front axle solves lots of these problems and still turns good, and IMHO it is one of the reasons that Oliver are much better field tractors than lots of other brands.
