I just bought my first Oliver and have a few questions. Please excuse my ignorance as I am "green" when it comes to Olivers.(pun intended)
I've been using IH euipment so I have a bit to learn.

On the ID tag below the instrument panel is the following information. 16-2512
145 304-612
The tag is faded so all that can be read are the stamped numbers. What exactly are these numbers? I am guessing the serial number is 145 304. Is that correct? Is it a 1964?

I don't have an operator's manual yet and would like to know what the two idiot lights are on the dash. The light on the right flickered for a bit the first few times I ran it and is now on all the time. All the fluid levels are OK. The only gauges are fuel, temperature and tach. I am guessing the idiot lights are oil pressure and charging system but could be wrong.

By the way, it's gas with a WF.

Thanks,
Andrew

you have the lights right, and the one that is lit would be the amp light, which means the generator isn't charging. If you can, take it in to a shop that rebuilds starters/generators/ and alternators. Where are you located?

Don,
Looks like the voltage regulator has been replaced recently. Like you say it may be the generator and the previous owner tried the regulator as a fix. There's a shop here in the Cleveland, Ohio area that has done work for me in the past. When I get a chance I'll take it in and have him test it.
Thanks,
Andrew
