I have 2 Oliver 77's, one gas ,one diesel. Why does the gas serial # show 341546 then show C77D after that? And the diesel serial is 4501 471 spaced like showen with a super 77 frame (flat plate on front and side)? Thanks Mike

the C77D refers to the number of teeth on the ring gear and bull gear, but i don'y have the info that tells you exactly which one you have. they used the numbers to identify between industrial, standard, and row crop.

Oliver changed the numbering system during the production of the 77 tractors. The C77D is allso cast into most of the cast parts. The first set of numbers is the older set of numbers. The numbers changed to look like the second set of numbers when the super series came out.
