77 RC Starter????

HI All, I just bought a 77RC with no starter. so I went out and bought a starter, here's where the problem is. the starter I bought has a solenoid attached to it and calls for two heavy wires and two small guage wires. on my tractor it has one heavy wire coming right from the starter switch. i'm not sure what to do and don't want to fry my new starter or anything else. thank you Jeff from WI.

jeff-the original 77 starter didn't use a solenoid, so it was wired direct to the battery with a heavy duty switch in line. For the one you have, wire the hot wire from the battery direct to the heavy post on your starter, and wire the 2 smaller wires from the solenoid to your starter button. This should work fine.
