Anybody know how good a tractor this is? At an auction they said it was 70 h.p. Deisel, it sold for $2400. Although, it was a consignment auction & I'm sure the owner bought it back.

I bought one about a year ago. All the mechanics I have talked to say you'll never have to worry about the engine. They've seen many with 10,000 hours or more with no problems. I love mine. I am even turning mine up some for tractor pulling. They are a real good lugger. Mine has 6600 hours and doesn't use any oil. I paid $2700 for mine with fresh paint a new seat and good rubber. I've seen 1365's on dealer lots going for $6000.

My dad paid $5000 for our 1365 brand new in 1974. I wish he bought 6 of them for that.

Bought one last year at an auction for $3000. Had 6600 hours on it, could use a set of brakes but other than that it is great. I've been around a lot of tractors built on the fiat design(Kubota, long, oliver) and they have all been excellent. This tractor has a 272 cu in engine with 72 hp. The sheet metal is identical to my M7500 kubota. I put 100 hrs on it this year pulling a 15 ft batwing mower, raking hay, moving hay and working tobacco ground. They are a little more awkward then the kubota and handle like a long. I believe parts may be a little scarce but havn't had to find that out yet. It is also an excellat starting tractor in cold weather. Even better than my kubotas.

They were rated for 70 hp, this much is true. I really like the Fiat made Olivers, but the 1465 is one to stay away from. They were only made for 3 years, and the parts are hard to get. If you like the looks of it, go for a 1355 or a 1365 Oliver, 2-50 or 2-60 White, or 5040 or 5050 Allis. They are good tractors.
