I have a 1800C with the newer style closed center hydrualic pump. How would I tie my loader directly to the pump without going through the remote outlets? thanks

Assuming my White 2_85 is similar to your Ollie 1800 (the 2-85 is basically a hybrid 1850-1750 with a closed centre hydraulic system and a Perkins) Look for a high pressure hydraulic line going across the back of the hydraulic reservoir behind the seat, near the top of the reservoir. You can (carefully) cut the pipe and tap into this with a special tee (this is expensive, cost $90) run the line to a control valve set up for CC, then run the return to a pipe plug located at the lower left of the back of the reservoir (with you facing the back of the tractor). Make sure you dont get steel filings in the system, be real careful. My local AGCO dealer gave me this tip and it worked like a charm, and freed up my loader from the remotes. My system is working great. If you need, i'll send a picture of the set up to show you. I am assuming your tractor is like mine (both are CC).
If you have a local AGCO dealer, check with him. MIne was very helpful. Hope this helps

I am not sure the 1800 had a closed hydraulic system . I looked at a book last night on the History of Oliver Tractors which stated that the closed hydraulic system was "new" with the 1755 to 1955 Oliver tractors in the early seventies . The 2-85 is the White replacement for either the Oliver 1755 or 1855 (2 wheel drive 85 horses) . The high pressure line Dave describes is on the back of my Oliver 1855 but not my Oliver 1850 . My understanding is that the 1850 replaced the 1800 Oliver series and at least my Oliver 1850 has an open center hydraulic system . I would check and make sure the 1800 had a closed system before going any further .

the 1800's have the closed center system. the 50 series had open but the 55 series had closed. the 1800 and 1855 closed center system are similar but not exactly the same

An 1800 Oliver DID NOT have a closed center hyd system! The closed center hyds. started with the 17-18-1955 series tractors which was stated above. Unless you have a Checkerboard or "A" series 1800 the instuctions about removing the 1/2" plug and putting the 3/8" plug in as stated below are correct. Did someone tell you this tractor has closed center hyd.? If they did they are incorrect! Good luck, WB.

I did a power beyond hookup like Gary is describing on an Oliver 1555 which has open center hydraulic system . I think it will work as Gary describes if your loader has a joy stick and valve for the joy stick . A Mr. BA Star who used to work for Oliver sent me an email from the old 1555 service manual which had exact instructions . You might try to get in touch with him on this web site .My only problem was removing the 1/2 inch pipe plugs which had to be heated to break them loose . I took two hydraulic quick connectors and screwed each one onto a six inch nipple of 1/2 inch pipe . I then screwed one piece of 1/2 pipe into the threaded area from one pipe plug and the other piece of 1/2 pipe into the threaded area where the other pipe plug came from . You then plug one line from the loader into one quick coupling and one into the other . If you unplug the lines to the loader you must either remove the 3/8 plug Gary describes or make a bypass from the hydraulic coupling out of the pump and the one back to the hydraulic system , otherwise the pump deadheads against the closed quick connector when the lines to the loader valve are unplugged .

There's a pipe plug on the left side under the seat of the hyd unit you have to take out. Then you screw a 3/8 pipe plug in the hole which goes deeper than the original 1/2 plug. You then put the outlet hose in where the original 1/2 pipe plug was. The is another 1/2 plug along the the same area that you put your return hose in which just goes into the reservoir. If you have any dealers in the area they should be able to show which plugs this is if not get back to me and I'll try to the info for you.

Closed center feature is in in the control valve, to do what you want means breaking into the pump outlet and feed the loader valve whick must also be closed center type. If an open center valve is used there will be no pressure at the remote outlet. Valves types are open center, power beyond and closed center
