Oliver 88 overhaul and what is the value of tractor?

I recently found two 88's for sale. One diesel and the other gas, the gas one runs and is said to have a 1600 series overhaul kit in it. Can that be done? I know some parts are interchangeable but what about that big of pistons and etc. He said they are the domed ones. He didn't do the work so it has been some time ago. The disel is stuck and split in half because he had to replace gears or something in the gas one. Side curtains are missing and tin work is poor condition. Also the good one has wide front but all four tires barely hold air. He says it runs decent and wants a $1,000 for the pair. This sounds reasonable but need more opinions on the motor work done. Thank you for any info.

If you can get 2 tractors and one is running for that price I would jump on that deal, regardless of the engine work.
