Model 22 and 73 mower differences

I'm restoring a Oliver sickle bar mower. I did'nt know for sure what model it was. Some people thought it was a model 22. I got a model 22 manual and it looks very much like what I have except mine has a hitch and a pto shaft that comes out of the rear for a hay conditioner. One person suggested that I might have a model 73B. Was the model 73 just a later version based on the model 22? I'd like to be absolutly sure of the model of my mower. Also are there many Oliver mowers still around? I haven't seen many.

Another possibility is that you have a Model 82 mower since it has the conditioner hitch and pto, and these were a late '50s to late '60s item. 82s have a serial number plate on the rear frame, I don't think the others have a plate. I have a 22 and an 82. I don't know about your area, but there are quite a few Oliver mowers here (Delmarva Peninsula).

I think the 82 was to only model to come with a hitch and PTO. I have a part book for 22-22B mowers and it doesn't list a hitch and PTO. I have seen older models that have had a hitch and pto added to them though.

I am working on a mower now. It is either a 22 or 22A, but I can't tell the difference between them from the part book I have. I know it isn't a 22B because it doesn't have a lever on the hitch, needle bearings in the pitman pivot arm, and it has a single arm caster wheel frame.

I would appreciate it if anyone can help me narrow it down.
