HOW DO I FREE UP A FROZEN CLUTCH ON A OC12

Have you taken it for a drive while keeping the clutch depressed? If that doesn't do it, you may have to pull the engine as if memory is right there is no easy way to get to clutch. I own an OC12, but it is not close by.

Is it the ground clutch or one of the steering clutches? If you have an OC-12 it will need to be prior to 1960 since after the sale of Oliver to White in that year the OC-4 and OC-9 were the only crawlers built. For parts and information call Landis Zimmerman @ (717) 738-2573.

THE I WAS JUST GOING BY WHAT THE GUY I BOUGHT IT FROM TOLD ME.THE GROUND CLUTCH IS FROZEN TO THE
FYLWHEEL.ANY HELP ON THIS PROBLEM WOULD BE A BIG
HELP.

Well, I know it a'int any picnic, but you can
start it in gear and drive into a tree. Unless
it,s rust very badly, it should break free. The
last time I did this was with a McCormack-Deering
T-20 crawler that was hand crank start. I had to
stand in front to crank it (in gear!!), then run around back and jump on. An OC12 is a bit large
for that, but I'm sure you wont be crankng to start.Pick a big tree with no dead limbs to whip
back on you, and dont stall it!! Also, on Olivers
your steering levers are brakes, not clutches, so
unless they're a mess too, you should be able to
steer. Good luck..

Actually, some of the OC-12's came with the Spot Turn clutch assemblies.

CERTAIN OF THE YEAR,I WAS GOING BY WHAT THE GUY I BOUGHT IT FROM TOLD ME.THE GROUND CLUTCH
IS FROZEN TO THE FLYWHEEL.ANY MORE INFO YOU

I would call Landis Zimmerman and have him send you a shop manual for the crawler so you can gain an understanding of what is involved. If it were my machine I would want to pull the flywheel and have it resurfaced.

Unfortunately, all my experience with Oliver crawlers has been on the small machines (HG's, OC-3's,4's & 6's).
