550 Cylinder Bore Specifications

Does anyone know the factory allowable cylinder bore specifications for the Oliver 550 4-cyl Waukeshau gas engine? It uses the 3-1/2" pistons (not the exact measure). I've measured 3.478" to 3.480" across the bores.

I am not quite sure what your asking. I looking in the IT manual and if what your looking for is the engine bore then your right, 3.5 inches for Ser# 72832 and before, and 3.625 after. Are you asking how far you can bore it? Or how far acceptable wear limits are. The wear limits in the IT are if it takes 5 - 10 lbs of pull on a .006 x 1/2 feeler guage between the pistons and the sleaves. Hope this helps, Joe
