Is anybody interested in getting together to start a local chapter? If there is interest we can talk to the HPOCA national organization for guidance.

I live in west central IN and have thought that an Illiana chapter would be nice. The Oliver Gang is a good distance away and I have never been able to get to any of their events/mtgs. There is also a chapter in central IL. Maybe a Kankakee-Wabash Valley chapter would work. Just some thoughts, WB.

So long as your headquarters is at least 100 miles from the Oliver Gang's it is just fine.

I am aware of the Oliver Gang and did not intend to compete with them. My thought was a group that might draw members from the area between Lafayette Indiana and maybe Joliet Illinois. I should have made that clearer. Sorry for the miscommunication.

E-mail Bill Meeker and have him send you the chapter guidelines. That is about all you have to work with at the start. It is hard organizing everything at first, but it will come to you eventually. I started one this past July and it is going ok so far. After about your second meeting you will need to send a letter to the HPOCA asking to be recognized as an official chapter. Bill will be able to tell you what needs to be in the letter. His e-mail is listed below.

You don,t have to be in local area to join Oliver Gang I,m 350 miles from indiana ,I,m a member ,but then I,m oliver crazy !!! we have thought about a ontario chapter but at 400 miles width of province and 300 north to south where do you meet ? And that doesn,t include northern ontario!!
