Oliver 550- your advice please?

I'm looking at an Oliver 550, apparently (at least cosmetically) in pretty good shape.

Can you help me out?

1. What is the HP of the 550?
2. Are parts readily available?
3. Known problems/ weaknesses with this tractor model?
4. What is a typical 'fair price' for this tractor?

I appreciate any advice...

i get most of the parts i need for my 550 from Mailbach in Ohio, there are pretty good about it. it is a great tractor

I purchased a 550 last summer. Fresh tires and paint, rebuilt transmission and new clutch. I gave $6000 for it at an auction in an area of hobby and horse farms. Beware not all parts are available but many common parts can be purchased through Agco (Allis Chalmers) dealers. Also transmission parts are expensive.

Range of price for these 1,800.00 to 5,900.00. Does it have power steering? 3 point? draw bar?
lights? some or all of these items have been removed from some of the 550's that I have looked at. Good luck Larry

horse power is 41 parts are easy to get great tractor ck for whine in rearend the worst problem is in the back like the diff. nut bearings etc
