hi , folks have a oliver guy working on my 880 deisel putting in new clutch. here is the problem he feels that with the new clutch the pedal is still not going to have enough travel. he thinks that the fly wheel has been turn down to far in the past. we need to know if anyone can tell us what the flywheel thickness would have been new. so he can compare it with the thickness now .....any help, suggestion, comment welcome..thanks in advance ..... ed

Thats rediculas there is plenty of adjustment either in the rod or the adjustment nuts on the clutch.He needs to check for worn keys in the shaft or other parts not the flywheel.

The most common thing I see is someone puts a new throwout bearing on a worn holder.The new bearing slides back too far to engage.If someone has put the newer style clutch parts on then the preasure plate its self may need the fingers adjusted to the rear a little.
