diesel starts and runs fine to half speed then starts missing and smoking heavily in the summer it would finally correct its self but does not when its cold

First thing would be to change the fuel filters.Allso check to se if the fuel tank is plugged at the bottem.

There is allso a safty screen in the inlet of the injector pump.If the filters have had poor maintence it can get clogged.Remove the elbow on top and suck or blow out the screen dont try to take it out.

If your tank is clean and you have new filters on than the next thing ya might check is the restricter valve in the outlet fitting of your injector pump were the fuel leaves the pump to return to the tank. The older style used a wire in the fitting to restrict the return flow of fuel but on your model im sure you will find a small ball like restricter in there. Just remove that and run it without anything in there. If it solves the problem you should be all right for a month or two but sooner or later you tractor will begin to surge on you. Whats happening is in the cold weather with the fuel getting thicker on you, its stopping the return flow of excess fuel to the tank and this will make you either loose rpm or completly shut your tractor down.

If this does solve the problem for now than that means the seal on the govenor in the pump is getting weak letting too much pressure by and forcing the restrictor valve to shut off fuel return Sooner or later you will have to get your pump overhauled. Its worth a try and it wont hurt to run for a spell with that restrictor out of there. Good luck Bob

decided to redo everything change filters again and clean every thing again and i also bled the injectors problem solved thanks to all who helped t o
