1655, tachourmeter broke at 5300, $4000 in reciepts for recent rebuild, clutch /pump /injectors /etc. Fair paint, had had fertilizer tanks strapped accross the hood at one time. PTO shaft looked like it had been beat on with a hammer. Fair to poor tires (I'dve been worried about the fronts lasting 30 miles home). Dual hydra-lectric system, looked to be converted to manual valves. 3 speed very noisy in all but direct. Dripped 3-speed fluid. Dripped black oil from top of exhaust manifold *they claimed condensate, but it was still coming after motor running for 2 hours. Looked like eninge oil from bad valve job). No cab. Sheet metal fairly straight.$5800!!!! The front weights (starter, 3 fulls, 1/2 top) went $290! The bolt on duals (hubs on tractor) went $300, one had been repired by bolting a patch to the inside. And the Case 1170 (Fresh rebuild, cab/air/heat) next to it went for $6200. Guess I'll continue to appreciate from afar when a $4000 tractor goes for $6500! And with poor tires too. And to think I passed up the auction with the 1650 with a loader because I thought it would be too expensive.
