I need to put a safety kill switch on my Super 88 Diesel for tractor pulling.Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Seems like it would have to be just a more convenient version of the fuel shutoff- like a big lever on the dash, or something- since there's no way to electrically stop a diesel. Sounds like this is a rule with wherever you're pulling- maybe see what the others have done to comply.

Put an air shut off on it held open by a pin hooked to a cable ran to the back of the tractor.

Go to Thermo-King, and buy a Shut-Down solenoid assy for any of the older model Isuzu or Mercedes powered units. pretty intensly powerful and fast solenoid, and continous run cycled at that. Mechanically reduced hold-in circuit, so you can use it to pull off only or run with it on. you need to see one to understand it. properly adjusted they will set and hold in the run position for many years. i am sure there are used ones around. But will this meet stock? it could be an add-on, or permanent installation. And since the rules change every day with every track, will it be allowed tomorrow? I have access to a Super 88 and the above mentioned parts, would anyone like to ask about this item? If it can be put in rules i will draw up a set of plans to put them on every Oliver Diesel there is. after the mechanical installation a simple relay could be connected to a pair of tablespoons with a leather tug-tether.
