We own and still use our Oliver 62T baler to this day. My grandfather bought it used in 1972. The only thing that has gone wrong with it is the knotters. I think its a great old baler. Its has done an A+ job on this farm, and i plan to keep it after we no longer need it.

My father bought one of those 62T balers new and it missed tying the first bale it ever made and many many more ever after. After two new knotters were installed i became the DR (designated rider) checkin and tyin all the bales untied before they got to far into the bale chamber. Not one of my more pleasant childhood memories, but a very discouraging one just the same. But it never reduced my love for oliver tractors though. Just a minor curve in what was really THE FINEST IN FARM MACHINERY.

I have an old friend who was an Oliver dealer in the '50's and early 60's. We were talking tractor one day, and he summed up by saying "Oliver was justifiably proud of its tractors." I asked him about haying equipment, and he replied with a smile, "Oliver was justifiably proud of its tractors." Enuff said.
