Well the bankruptcy of Quality stores finially hit Western Mass. Our Central Tractor stuck a sign up on the door saying they were closing at 3 PM for good. Sadly this leaves us with no close source of farm supplies or tractor parts in the whole western part of the state (and thats the agricultual portion of Mass!). It is really a shame when you come to depend on something only to have it fold because another corporation tried to get too big too fast. Just a thought.

Was just over at our local C/T going through their liqudation sale and the entire store is only 20% off. Heck I thought they were going out of business and wanted to get rid of their stuff. I guess they will mark it down more later, but I was not too impressed as normal for that place... There was a lot of people there but not too many buying stuff yet, I will keep trying back and see if I can find some "deals" later..... Im really kind of glad there gone, they gave a bad name to the other "farm stores". Just my ranting for the evening.....

Our store was pretty good. The main man inside was a farmer himself with 3 or 4 older IHCs. Always loved to rib me about my Oliver when it was broke, but always there to chase down a part for it. As far as other stores go, there aren't any here. That was it for the whole county.

Our CT store closed today in Bardstown KY, but I was told that a TSC was to replace it. I like tsc better for some things. Big problem with the store was lack of product knowledge. I went there about a month ago to get some oil bolts etc and asked for a 72" hydraulic hose the guy said they never had this. I bought 10 others there previously. Spent a little time looking around and low and behold there it was. These places will not survive buy hiring people for 6$ an hour and expecting them to sell equine products, tractor parts, fencing equip etc. These stores are usefull more so well staffed. My thoughts.

Hang on to your CT catalog. Their catalog business is NOT going out of business. Perhaps some smaller, well run, dynamic outfit will open a "farm store" in your area!

The only parts sold will be Value Built replacement parts, another division of QFC's parent Co. Their entire used parts inventory was sold off months ago to another salvage outfit.

I too am losing a Quality Store here in Indiana, but I read in the business section of the paper Thursday that TSC was buying 85 Quality stores and turning them into TSC stores. Maybe you will get one of those.
