Can someone tell me if there is any block heaters that will fit a 1850 other then the one that goes in the lower radiator hose. Would like to put one in the block where the freze plug is. Thanks for any info.

All of my 1850's have a manifold heater along with the one in the lower radiator hose. I prefer the freeze plug heater over the canister type. It is a lot easier to pop out the soft plug, and install the heater. With the size of that engine, you can install 2 in that block.

If you have not found a heater yet, I sell the 1500 watts for a lot less than $ 40.00. E-mail me if you need. Thanks.

I just installed what they call a canister style
one in my 1655d last weekend. it works great.
it actually circulates heated coolant from
the draincock port up through the port right
below the thermostat. it cost about $40.00 made by KAT its 1500 watts and when temp was 18F last weeekend after about 2 hrs tractor started on second try. It normally
won't start on the second try when its 50f.
the stock heater in the lower hose could cook all day at 18f and never get the job done. bought it at the local auto parts store after talking to some of the guys here.
Its one of those things that works so great you
hate to have anybody waste their time and money
on something that will never get the job done right.Especially when its cold and you want to
work with the tractor not on it. just my opinion jeff

I will second that, I use the canister heaters on all my diesels, and would not go to anything else.
