I am going to probably buy an OC-3 tomorrow. Supposedly has no spark due to magneto problem. Never own a magneto 4 stroke before and have never worked on them. Is there some simple tests I could do to prove the problem is in the magneto?
If I prove problem is in Magneto, should I try to rebuild it myself or buy rebuilt and trade mine in for a core?

Any tips for a magnetonewbie would be appreciated.

Thanks much

Take the Mag of and put it in the vise, then take a short spark plug wire put one end in the mag and hook a spark plug to the other end, ground the plug against the side of the mag then turn the mag over. This is how to check the spark. If you have poor spark there are several people who will rebuild the mag. You can still purchase Wico mags new, Landis sells them. Spark
