I have an Oliver 70 sitting on some of my property that is mine if I want it. Engine is stuck - no water in oil pan though. Took the valve cover off and all the valves move yet so it can't be too bad. Exhaust pipe has been broke off so I don't think much water could get down the manifold. Something strange about the manifold -- there is a hole at each end of the exhaust manifold and 2 holes in the hood for exhaust pipes. Factory or field modification??? Tires are totally rotted off and of course the tin is rusted through in the battery area.

My main question is, are parts available for this? The shifting lever is gone from the transmission and there is an open hole in the top so I fear damage in the transmission/rearend. Also there are some smaller parts missing from the engine such as the distributor.

I know it won't be cheap to get it going again, but can I do it without spending a million bucks? I am a darn good self taught farm mechanic.

Steven,Although you can still get whatever you might need to get the 70 back in working order I would pass it up for a different model.Some of the parts such as main bearings and complete gasket set are very expensive.Also,once finished the 70 doesn't sell very well so you would never come close to getting your investment back.
