I am considering buying a Oliver 1650 -- the asking price is $4000 -- it has a loader, blade, and a towed generator. The hour meter reads 30,590. Is this considered high hours and is the price in line? The 1650 has been kept inside so it is in ok shape. Thanks -- Keith

Keith,
I think Bob M is right, its probably 3,059 hours. Anyway, I wouldn't pay too much attention to the hour meter on a tractor that old. You don't really know how accurate that reading is. I would pay more attention to the overall condition of the tractor, that will tell you more about the tractor than the hour meter.

Keith - You sure about the hours? Generally tractor tach-hour meters record to 9,999.9 hours then start over at 0. Suspect the one you're considering actually has 3,059 hours.

Anyway our 1650 gas has over 6,000 hours on the clock and it runs great. Motor was overhauled once, but otherwise the tractor has been virtually trouble-free. If the 1650 you're looking at runs good, $4,000 is a good price - ESPECIALLY if it comes a loader and towed generator!
