I have an Oliver 88 and i am running 3 7/8 turbo dome M & W pistons. I am Getting big valves in the head. I am porting the head .I got a 1650 intake manifold and it is ported and i got an 88 exhaust manifold and it is also ported. I am running a bigger carb off of a 1650 and i am running electronic ignition , hotter plugs , MSD box, 45,000 volt coil , & copper plug wires,& i am also sending the distributor out to get recurved, so let me know what you boys think she will have. Thanks

The 1800 cam and the brand new mallory distributor probably made more difference than all the other modifying put together The cam is good for 20 hp alone. Just ask your agco dealer for a brand new 1650 distributor. That what you will get, a nice shinny chrome plated mallory Get the one with the tac drive in it and stay away from vaccum advance Its pretty un 88-880 looking and with that cam you wont need the acceleration anyhow Good luck and dont quit your day time job

I done pretty much exactly what you say your doin only i shaved 40 thou off the head and found a real good hot plug to fit into her.Am runnin 1650 desiel fly wheel, clutch and starter. Its runnin 245-265 compression. Run half avaition fuel and half menthol hydrate. Ripped two perfectly good pto clutches outa her on dyno. Was gettin a strong 90+of of her Oh yeah, i got a 1800 cam in it too. Am runnin her 2200 Thats fast enough if ya want it to last any length of time. Not much of a parade tractor though LOL

Also when ya get your manifold cleaned out, get them to put it in a lathe and turn exhaust outlet as far as they can go. Mine is turned out and threaded for 4 in. pipe Grind the inside lip of the pipe to a point. Also you can clean your oil bath air cleaner all out, mesh and all and than fill it full of menthol hydrate. Two full pulls and she will be empty Helps a lot Wear your sun glasses, it will be spittin at ya. LOL

All you need now is a turbo and super charger, turn the revs up about 1000 or so, and start burning Jack Daniels for fuel an you'll have a real puller. Ha, Ha!
