Need some help! I/m looking at a 1800 oliver gas with wide front and remotes in fair shape. I/m a I H owner with several different series Farmalls. But many years ago my wife bought a super 77 oliver diesel at a farm sale , it never gave a minute trouble and worked hard. Sold it and bought a 706 which has not been a good deal! So now I need a work horese the 1800 is a gas ,what size plow will it pull in clay ground? 5 bottom? Will it handle a 14' wheel disc? will the hydrulic handle 6 row rear mount cultivators? What kind of power can I expect? Is it hard on gas? Is their any problems or dangers of owning a 1800? Whats it worth? is $1800.00 to much? How hard are parts to get? How expensive are parts? Is it heavy? Were they or are they good tractors? My 706 has me about broke!
