I am familar with Olivers, but not the 550. I would appreciate some help. What size tires are original? Where can you buy a new manifold? Are new rear rims available?

Aftermarket manifolds are available (see the ads in the left column). I swap rear wheels from 12.4-24 bar treads for the loader to the 16.9-26 turfs from my Case 431, which also has 16.9-28 bar treads. They use the same 8 bolt rear hub, same as Ford/MF/Case. The fronts are 6 bolt, I'm running 9.50-16 truck tires, have run 15" floaters and 7.50-16 row tires too. Rims are readily available, expect to pay $150-200 each new. My turfs ran me $400 used with rims and I expect they will rot off the rims after 20 years or so.

These are very nice little tractors that will work 3-4 Fords into the dirt. The rear drives are much tougher than the MF too. Just be careful if you put on a loader, the fron suspension and steering do not like that much.

The rear tires can be 26 or 28 inches with 28 being the most common. Those come in 11.2x28, 12.4x28, and 13.6x28. Fronts are normally 6.00x16 or 6.50x16. You may still be able to buy new manifolds through your nearest AGCO dealer (Thats the company Oliver was merged into). New rims are not a problem. They come in 10, 11, and 12 inch widths in the 28 inch diameter. It takes the same 6 loop rim all of the Fords use.
