I am considering buying a super 55 but would like to put a front end loader on it. where could I find a loader? how difficult would it be? about how much would it cost? any info would be greatly appreciated. Are other parts for an Oliver hard to locate? thanks, Allen

I have a loader on my S55 and the front steering is all boogered up due to it. Loaders that fit the Fords/Masseys can be made to fit the Oliver with very little work, but be aware the Oliver has much more horsepower and it is very easy to overwork the steeering to the point it fails.

If you do put a loader on be sure you have a late model with the reinforced tie rods, keep the bucket down to 4' (note that the spread on the front wheels is wider than the bucket), drive slow and not on rough ground.

Better yet, buy a white 2-44L. It's a 550 with an industrial front end and loader on it.

Allen,
There are several brands of loaders that fit the Super 55. Mine is a Wagner brand. I was told that its model # also was the same as a Ford 9N, although I am not positive of this. The front hydralic pump runs off the bottom pulley of the engine, which should not be too hard to duplicate even if you cannot find the factory pulley. I have seeen two loaders to fit a Super 55 for sale just in the last 6 months. One of them was asking $600.

Good Luck!

Allen, do you have power steering on your Super 55? If not, how hard do you find to steer with a load? I have never considered a front end loader on my Super 55 because I don't have power steering on mine. I have also heard it wears out the steering parts fast.
