Whew! You about gave me a heart attack, until I
used your e-mail address to place you. I thought
you were looking at the same tractor that I have
found. It's also a 1600 gas, and yes, the asking
price is $3000. It's located in central Kansas,
and has not been advertised, to my knowledge. I
am planning to look it over next week.

I've included a link to a picture of the one I'm
looking at. It's got 3600 hours on it. I bid
$3175 on a 1550 gas utility with 5600 hours in
fair condition last week (it brought $3200).

That is a picture of a 1600 Wheatland not to many of them around even here in Kansas. Ask if he has the door that goes on the step side of the tractor.

I didn't know Oliver made a "Wheatland". I've
seen wheatland Internationals and JD's but never
an Oliver. Unlike the IH and JD wheatland's I've
seen, this tractor has a 3-point hitch. As
mentioned earlier, I looked at a 1550 utility,
with 28 inch wheels and a set-back front axle.
There's a picture of one of these in the gallery
section of this web site. The 1600 I pictured has
34 inch wheels, not the 38's I've seen before on
other 1600's. The front end is also different,
not set out in front like others I've seen, but
not set back under either. I thought it
might be an aftermarket wide front conversion.

As for the door on the step side, I'll ask about
it. You can barely tell from the picture I
posted, but they've welded on a replacement
battery box. Not sure what happened to the
original. Here's a link to a better picture of
the step area.

I don't think anyone could tell you what to pay with the info you gave, area of country, hours, tires, and general mechanical condition are big factors. I don't know the value of 1600's, but if you can give some of that info maybe someone can help.

If you can keep those carbs. trash free, they are excellent tractors. I found that an in-line filter from bowl to carb. goes a long way.

Depending on condition and if you like big gas tractors, the 1600 should range from $2000-$4000. I love my 1650 gas.
