Thanks for the info. The one I am thinking about rebuilding is out of my 1955. When I purchased this tractor I was told that White Farm Equipment had warrantied the original engine and when it blew up, they replaced it with a complete new engine from the factory. This had to be one of the last ones built with all the updates. The tractor has served me well doing a majority of the field work from the mid 80's till about 4 years ago. At that time I could tell I had a tired engine, but oil pressure was still great. I have always used good oil (cen-pe-co)and felt this helped to get the long life out of these. This particular tractor ran almost 60 days straight (night & day) on a deep well during the 1987 drought. Only stopped it to change oil. I would really like to rebuilt it like I remember it.

That's right. A 1955 just isn't a 1955 without the original 310 engine.
