Need Info on Hart-Parr 28-44

We just started up a 1930(?) H-P 28-44. Runs well but the clutch is stuck. Top cover is removed and I do beleive the plate is stuck to the flywheel. We plan to use penetrate spray and gentle tapping to free it. I know very little about the engine and some insite about it would be helpful.

Thanks for the response. The clutch came loose after removing rat nests, pecans, and dirt dobber nests. It works fine now.

Loosen the bolts on the pressure plate and turn the plate that will loosen the pressure plate so you can get to the clutch disc. The plate sets on ramps that is how you set your free travel by turning the pressure plate, If I remember right there is measuement for this adjustment, I would have to look it up.

I dont' think that I would mess with that adjustment if you can help it. We had a 90 that the clutch wouldn't release when we got it. What we did was thak the bolts out as the other reply said. The cluch pressure plate rides on three square pegs that stick out of the flywheel. What happened to ours is that the pressure plate had frozen on those pegs. We got in there with a pry bar and popped it loose and it worked fine. Then when we removed the motor to paint it we cleaned all the parts up and got the clutch relined.
