Hi,

I read Shep's recommendation on the 5.9 for the 1750. Does anyone have a good source for obtaining one and what is a fair price for a good used one?

Thanks,

Fred

Cummins is an excellent engine for this tractor. I just put a 5.9 in a 1750 last winter. Its an awesome tractor now. about 112hp. We chopped windrows from a 21ft haybine of 2nd crop at 5 miles an hour with it. We also have a 1755 with the 5.9, and a 2150 with a 5.9 that is turbocharged and after cooled. Its not really that hard to put them in if you have the resources.

A place in Terre Haute, IN a place called T-N-T leasing has been advertising new Cummins 6Bs for some time now. Their ad says as low as $4500. Phone # is 812-238-2611. Website is www.tntleasingcorp.com. I have not called to inquire about them so I don't have any more details. WB.

Hey fred,
are you from around Terre Haute? If you are i am not too far from you in Robinson, Illinois! I was at the Terre Haute tractor show last year with that unstyled 1937 "B" JD with the expo quality paint job (sorry guys...i have my weakness for the green of the lighter shade). I also did really well(!!!!) in the tractor games. Were you there?

www.enginecore.com can put you in the ballpark of some engine dealers that carry different types of engines. New 5.9BT Cummins engine about $6,000. Good used or rebuilt around $4,700. That is about what you can find them for. Conversion kits come directly from cummins, check out thier website www.cummins.com.
