Co-op ID and info wanted

We aquired what we think is a Co-op E-3 but are unable to find any serial #. There is nothing stamped in the frame nor is there any plate. It has a 4 cylinder Buda engine and Made in Canada stamped on the trans case. Is there any way a person can identify it?

Paul,
I saw your post yesterday then got distracted before answering. I just went out to check my CO-OP E3. The serial number is on the left side on the top surface of the frame at the wide spot directly below the distributor. The number should look like: 49-30-XXXX. "49" is the year "30" is the series 30 or E3 and "XXXX" is the serial number. It is my understanding that the serial numbers for the Cockshutt 30, CO-OP E3 and others such as Farmcrest all follow the same serial number line. The CO-OP E3 will have a "30" stamped in the frame. Not an "E3".

K-Mo,
We have cleared all the paint off the left side of the frame rail where the serial # should be and have been unable to find any stampings. We are looking for any other way to help identify it.

I looked in my parts book and from what I can find is that other than the decals and nose strip, the 1951 model had some E3 specific planter mounting parts on the 3-Point. Most of these parts appear to be stamped steel. The only part which appears to be cast and possibly habe a casting number is the "Attaching arms for rockshaft on Co-op E3 rear mounted planter (Used 51*)" Part Number TF-10464.
Have you tried the Cockshutt Web Site? If I can find it I will email it to you.

4 cyl. would be a E-3 or a 30. Look on top edge of the cast belly near the center of the engine I dont rember wich side I think it is the right you may have to scrape paint if it has a lot of build up. It is stamped in not a tag.
