If you are refferring to the numbers that are like this: XX.XXX.XXX.XXX.XX or something similar, that is the I.P. address of the person who wrote the reply or message or whatever. I think that I.P. stands for Internet Protocal. What I mean by address is through which server you are using. If you use AOL for instance, the machine that you dial into has an IP address on the web. So I hope that makes sense.
