I came across a 1969 Oliver FWA 2150 (in Ohio) today. It has 4200 hours on it and runs fine. Has been mostly sitting for about four years (in pole barn, on a cement floor). Rear tires are brand new, and looked "extra tall" with very deep tread. Front ones have little tread. Paint is original, looks good, and even the fenders (with fuel tanks) look very good. Comes with a rather small, simple cab. Owner is asking $9,000. Is this a fair price? Please give any advice/opinion on the Hercules engine used in this model. How much would be invested in the rear tires? Thank you very much for any advice!

About 5 years ago they had an estate sale for the old Oliver dealer at Rich Hill,MO.On the sale was a 2150 FWA and a 1950 FWA Olivers.Both had been used hard on his large farm since new but neither had been used in several years.They had to pull both of them to start them and much to the crowds amazement the 2150 brought $8,000 and the 1950 $7,000.The paint was faded and the tires werent that great.The 4-53 needed overhauled on the 1950.

If the 2150 you are looking at runs and drives good its probably worth close to $9,000.Very few 2150's were ever sold in our area.Are the rear tires 23.1x34 rice tires since you said they had deep tread?If so they are over $1,000 each new.As everyone says the 478 Herc is expensive to rebuild.A year ago there was a 2150 FWA with rebuilt engine for sale in NE MO for $10,000.

Here is my litte toy, jethro is right-- run that puppy a little first, if you have to get into that big 478 Hurk it will cost you some $$$$$. Other than that I love it, big engine, lots of power and take the muffler off and let her scream.... If you have questions about it let me know, I have been inside and out of mine quite a bit...

I would check to see if parts were still avaiable for the Clark front end especially the axles. The engine is D 4800 very similar to the D 5000 used in the 2-135& 2-155's. It uses an American Bosch pump, unless it has been changed over to the Rosa-Master pump. It is not the cheapest engine to work on.

I think you got a good deal there. just make sure you see the tractor run before you buy it. i know a guy who bought one and the crank was busted in it. make sure it carries good oil pressure too.
