I have Case,Farmall, and Fordson tractors and this will be my first other brand tractor. Sheetmetal is good and it was driven into a shed a long time ago. If it will run well I will pay $800 for it. My main question; is there 3pt conversions for it? The tractor has a engine driven pump and I would like to work it around the house but not do anything to it unreversable to original.

Yes the 30 and 40 were available with three point hitch. I have the parts book and advertising brochures for the 40 showing detailed drawings of the hitch. I have never seen a factory 3 point hitch though so they were rare in this area of Canada anyway. I built my own out of scrap parts plus the lift links and draft arms from a Fordson Major. Works great on a 6 foot snowblower.

I built a 3pt for my 30.It mounts the same as the factory option with no mods to the tractor.You need the optional seat(I think its called a knofler) because the rockshaft is activated by a cylinder under the seat.(You could probably offset the cylinder to one side for a standard seat,just would not look as stock).The rest is straight forward fabrication,but a welder& drill press will be needed,and a small amount of lathe work on the rockshaft and it's bearing points.Other than that it's just angle iron,chain,flat stock,round stock, bolts and weld on replacment ends.

There is a company in Aberdeen, SK Canada that is
suppose to make 3-points for the model 30. The
numbers I have are 1-800-383-2228, 306-253-4343
and Fax is 306-253-7146, ask for Joe. I don't
have any first hand info but supposed to be a 4
bolt installation, weight #300 and CAT I and II.
May not be original looking but at least it adds
to the function of the tractor.

The "roundnose" Cockshutts had optional 3 point available from the factory. The problem is, a lot of the "big prairie" farmers had no use for 3 point, so ordered the tractors without. Result is that the 3 point parts are in demand by collectors to retrofit their tractors. I have the 3 point on my 35, and it works great. You'll like the tractor- live hydraulics, 3 point and independent PTO in the '40's, when most of the other mfgrs were still making "iron horses" to just pull stuff around (and a nifty rope to pull when you want to raise the implement). As far as I know, nobody makes an aftermarket 3 point kit for these- not enough of them around.
