Here are some more pictures of the conversion work on the 1855. All that is really left is the exhaust system and the gerotor hydro pump that I am installing, and putting in the fuel tank and some wiring. I am hoping to have her running in about two weeks or so and then will see what else flys apart. Enjoy the pictures....

Hey Shep - You had better start looking for a set of rear tires with some tread. You're going to need them to hold that Cummins down (and a lot of rear weight).

That left rear is really shot, and the rim is not much better, almost didnt even bother to paint the rim and just put another on, but I thought I would get all the life outta the tires I can before getting new ones. The ones that are on it are 18.4's and sence I have to put new rims on sometime I thought I would go with bigger rims next time and step up to 20's. That outta help hold that Cummins power to the ground.

Thanks for the comments.

Dude !
You do some great work! I know of 2 1850's and one 1855 sitting outside of Austin, TX. Old fella plans to sell one a year for additional income.

If I play my cards right maybe I can get you to do one of "Shep Custom Restoration"? That is a great looking rig. Green with envy and still in weeds . . .

Thanks for the comments ShepFL, you really need to get one of these big Ollies and come up to Virginia and we will fix it up right. It still astounds me how a little elbow grease and some know how can really make one of these big Ollies turn some heads. I was working ground with my 1850 cummins and a 12ft DMI field cultivator a few months ago and the neighbor was disking with a 10 ft disk and a newer JD of some kind, and I was making two rounds to his one, he just kept looking over the fence everytime he came around trying to figure out what that thing was that was eatin him up..... .. I love it..... . -

Shep- gotta love your green machine. I have a 1755 and a 3-16 Oliver 565 plow that I use it on. Loves to dig in atleast a good 8", sometimes a full foot, and she keeps on pulling, sometime spinning and I have to raise it up a little. has plenty of weight on the front because I bought it with an allis chalmers loader mounted on it. Some day I gotta rip into her and go over the engine.Don't know when seeing as how it doubles as the snow plow, but some day i'll get a loader back on my little massey. I already cracked the frame of the first one on it. (oops!!-powerful little tractor, I like the red ones too) Anyway, I enjoy reading about your conversion, and makes me really want to think about a cummins in my lil' ol ollie.
