Oliver 88 motor will bolt right in the 77 chasis without redrilling the motor mount bolts. You will have to shorten the shaft from the clutch to the rear end though. It will need to be shortened about 1". You may have to change the water nech on top of the thermastat to a real short one. I think one like off a 66 will do it.

The bolt holes in the frame ALMOST line up. Just have to touch them with a round file or air grinder to slot them slightly. The 88 is a little longer and the fuel tank will be crowded and the clutch to trans shaft will have to be shortened a little bit. Still that "ain't no hill for a climber" as they say.

The bolt holes won't line up if that is what your asking. The 77 frame is narrower than the 88 frame. That don't mean ya cant get it in if your a mind to.

Why are you fooling with an 88 motor? Go ahead and put an 1850 motor in it. It will fit, no matter what it looks like. When you git through with that you can put that 77 motor in a 66 !!
