Shep, I noticed a couple of your posts about wanting to change the hyd cooler pump on your 1855. If I remember correctly, that gerotor pump gets it's oil supply from the hyd resevoir via a seperate suction tube that goes into the resevoir. This means that the hyd housing is different because it is cast for this extra tube. I may be wrong but that is something for you to check out, WB.

Hmmmmm Im not sure on that one, I figured I could feed the pump off of the existing hose that comes out the front of the tractor, just swing the hose around under the cab and hook it on to the pump. There has to be some way to do it, because the later model 55 series tractors had this pump on them. The breakdown that I have of this pump does not show clearly where it picks up oil from. Maybe I need to check that out before I buy a pump. Let me know if you find out anything else on that, I will do some checking. Thanks WB.

Shep, I looked at my shop manual today and I was wrong about where the supply to the gerotor comes from. It looks like the steel line that would normally go forward to the front makes a 90 and goes down the side of the transmission to the gerotor. Where this line goes into the pump there is a T and a rubber hose that goes to the unloader valve. A steel line comes out of the gerotor and goes forward to the cooler. I'd say it looks like you could use this setup if you find the parts you need. Good luck, WB.

Did some checking on that with some other people today and they said the same thing that I should be able to swing that front line around and hook it to the gerotor like I thought. Thanks for the tip though, I would hate to spend all this money on a pump that would not hook up. Costs me nothing to do a little research, costs a lot sometimes if I dont. Thanks for the advice WB. BTW I have found a few pump set ups for $500 to $700, just need to see exactly what I need to do this before I get one.
