i know this isnt a tractor motor, but thought since some olivers had the cummins motors, someone might have an answer for me. i have a 400 cummins in a cabover truck. the filter was clogged up, so i pulled it aside. it had had no starting problems. when i changed the filter, i forgot to fill it with fuel, and therefore ran air through the system. this has happened before, when the previous owner had it and it finally started without having to prime it. no such luck this time. i primed it, drained the fuel and put in new and fuel additive. it will start on ether, but you cant control it with the pedal or keep it running. any ideas?? thanx

Make sure it's the right filter? Replaced one once that I bought from the dealer and it was incorrect, screwed up ok but pressure relief was in wrong location. New filter solved the problem.

I am currently building a pulling tractor. I need to know where to find the adapters or what ever it takes to put the cummins in a Oliver, or Allis tractor. If you know anything write back

Sounds like you will need to crack the lines as some one turns the engine over with the starter to remove the air from the injector lines. Be sure to bleed the air from the injector pump itself before doing this.

You could alos have gotten dirt into the system when removing the filter.
