On my Row Crop 88, the hydraulics are making a squealing noise and slow when lifting the plows out of the ground using a two bottom trailer plow with a hydraulic cylinder. I rebuilt the pump and it does not leak and the center section was not worn much. The hoses, fittings and cylinder are new. Is it possible I have air in the system and need to bleed the air out? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Some of the early 88's had a restrictor in the pipe that comes out of the lift that the hoses hook too, see if it is turned in. Some of them had them in both hoses others just had one. If it just has one it should be hooked to the down side of the cylinder, The restrictor was used to control cylinder bounce in heavy use such as a loader.

the restrictor is a good place to look first.but it should be in the raise side of the cylinder because it is used to restrict the oil returning to the system.next place to check is the amout of presure on ether hose.you should have around 1200lbs pressure.you can add washers to the relief valve on the bottom of the unit to increase the pressure.
