Hey Diesel... I found the leak

The leak on my 2150 not in my head. I had one of thoese leaky oil filters really start leaking oil bad the other day so I got upset and decided that I was going to fix it. The leak is not in the oil filters themselves but in the filter base, in the trench that the old metal sock filter covers would fit. There is some kind of gasket between the filter base and the cast part of the tractor. That is why your 2050 does not leak oil because the metal top for the sock filter covers the place where it is leaking. Soooo, having no idea how the filter base comes apart and my book not helping me at all, I cleaned everything up good and filled the filter base trench full of JB Weld and let it sit over night. And Wala-- for the first time ever I dont have oil leaking around the filters. I have no idea why those bases are in two pieces or even how they come apart, maybe someone else knows, but I got mine to stop leaking for now. Just thought you might want to try that fix on your 2150 Dsl, or look at it and see if there is a way to fix it better.
