I guess the answer to your question D13 is yes the 1755 frame will take a cummins engine, with some modification. You have to knock out the old Waukesha moter mounts, that entails standing on your head with an air hammer or torch and cutting out the cast mounts, and you have to cut out part of the bottom of the tub. You can do that and the cummins will bolt in to the top of the tub rails. It usuasally does not look pretty and requires a bit of sweat and choice words, but it works. In my 1855 conversion, that I am supposed to be working on, I opted to put a 1850 Perkins frame in the tractor and not have to do any of that modification to the frame, same results, just less work and I hope it looks better. You will need a bellhousing off of an 1850 Perkins diesel to allow the cummins to hook up, you can get them from boneyards. As to the 1850's I have heard that they put some Waukesha Diesels in the 1850's but I have never seen one, or even a picture of one, but that doesnt mean that Oliver didnt do it. You really missed a deal on that perkins, there is one like that for sale around here for $7,000. Still worth it in my book, I love those 1850's. I can tell you more about the conversion of the 55 series as I get worked through my 1855. It has kinda stopped for the moment as I have been working corn ground with my 2150 and a BIG DMI ripper. I hope to get back to work on the 1855 next week, I am almost ready to start installing the Cummins, and I have some new pictures for you guys as soon as I get them downloaded.
