I am glad that you have the same tractor disease that all of the rest of us have. The big Ollies are great. The 1755 is a good tractor, and probably had better luck with the 310 Waukesha than its bigger brothers because it was not turbo charged. As to the Cummins conversion, I just was talking with D13 a few threads up about that or you can search the archives for Cummins, I know we have talked about this a bunch on this forum. I have personally swithed one Oliver to a cummins and am in the process of the second conversion. I dont really think there is a place that you can get step by step instrctions and some parts have to be fabricated, but Cummins does make an install kit for the B series engines to go into Olivers. I guess my personal favorites for 4x4 Olivers is the 2050 and the 2150 tractors. They are HUGE brutes of tractors that run that big 478ci Hurk engine. That is a far cry from the 310 Waukesha. They can push or pull just about anything, but they are not real agile. I think I know where there is one for sale if you are interested. I also liked the 1950 4x4's but I dont think you would want a loader on that scramin detroit. I would think the 1755 would be a good tractor, but you are correct in thinking it has engine problems if it is knocking. You may be able to rebuild that engine if it has not gone too far, or if you can get the tractor bought for a good price, just switch it to the Cummins, you will be glad you did. Just my 2 cents.
