Oliver 77 won't start

I have a 1952 oliver 77. We converted it from 6 volt to 12 this summer and chnaged everything over.....also installed new points, plugs,wires, coil,etc. Well now it won't start i thought the coil was bad so i went and got a new one....didn't change the situation..... ..im not getting any juice from the - side of the coil to the distrubtor...i have power on the positive side of the coil....what could cause this and how can i correct it. thanks in advance,

It sounds like the points and condensor are grounded tor the distributor housing. It probably grounded at the bolt that all the wires attach to.

Sounds as if your points have given it up. Did you install a ballast resistor in the ignition primary circuit? Was the coil designed for use with or without a resistor? Have you checked the points to be sure they are opening and closing correctly? A shorted condenser could also cause this problem.

Use a test light to determine where the problem is. Start with the primary circuit at the switch (with the ignition on and the points open) and follow the wire testing it for power at every connection and a few points along the way by piercing the insulation just to make sure you have no wires with broken circuits internally.
