I've got a badger in my barn right next to my 50, hanging out under a few boards and I've not sure how to get rid of him. I really don't want to start blasting away with the 12 gage, as it might cause some damage, and I'm afraid the 22 might just wound him, and I really don't want to deal with a wounded badger. I've turned the lights on an pointed some work lights in his direction to make him less comfortable. Any good ideas.

Not sure about badgers, but similar varmints can sometimes be persuaded to move by rolling in a bunch of mothballs, if you can get near the lair.
