Is it difficult to find implements for Super 55?

I would like to find a No. 3240 moldboard plow and a No. 372 Cultivator one day for my Super 55 when I get it back together. Are these implements difficult to find? I never see ads for them on the net, or in the back of the HPOCA newsletter. If anyone has any information one the avialability of these implements I would appreciate it. I live in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia and I bet I must have the only Super 55 around, so I don't think I'll find much around here.

Good luck finding anything in Oliver. We have a family friend that has been trying to find some impliments for his 550 for a while now. I think he has tracked down a planter and has a plow, but that's about it. We have a 3241 plow which i think is the model you are looking for, but we're not really interested in selling it. We have a 66 with a 3 point that we will use it on. I wish you all the luck in your hunt. If we run across another plow I can let you know. We took a 3 bottom 3241 and made it into a 2 bottom, which may be what you might have to do. I'll keep you in mind though if I would run across anything.

Paul; I see oliver implements here at farm auctions, anything shipped into lower MI stays here due to there being no escape possible. Water east, west north and Detroit south, People are born, live and die without finding out there are other states in this country. Back to implements I could let you know if I spot some thing but the distance and shipping would be a problem. Jake

Thanks for the info. Yeah, shipping would be outrageous, but I plan on spending next summer going to some sales in the states. I will disguise it as a vacation for my wife. Although, she'll know what's going on.

I put the post up about the implements just to get an idea on what is out there since I never see them around here. By the way, I grew up in Lansing, Michigan, (Mount Hope Elementary and Walter French Junior) I lived just across the river from the zoo, if you've ever been there.

Why look for the old Oliver implements? The Super 55 has a standard Category 1 Three Point Hitch arrangement so you can buy any number of new or used implements for it. The tractor does not care if it says Woods, or John Deere, or Ford or Howse or...

I meant for showing, not so much for working day to day. Yeah, I buy whatever implement is cheapest that will do the job. There is a small company called B & M that fabricates them around here. They work fine.

Oh, you want it to show. Those particular implements will be harder to find since a lot of the smaller ones were well used/used up years ago while attached to Olivers and other makes of tractors. There are still ones out there but since they are in rough shape, a lot of people don't consider them worth anyone's time and they continue to lie around rusting at what ever spot they were last unhitched at. Your best bet would be to start searching rural farm supplies and to talk to as many people as you can find to discover who has what laying around.

Gotta agree with John. My loader came off a 9N and my implements are the cheapy King Cutters. Ole Olly hasn't noticed yet!
As for being the only Super 55 around, I used to think mine was the only one for 100 miles, but when you learn to keep your eyes peeled, you spot them. I've found two more in my area, so I don't feel lonely anymore!
