What advantage would it be to put a turbo on a tractor with a blower already? I've been around tractor pulling all my life and I understand the concept of a turbo well but it seems to me that you can't push more air thru the blower than it does already.

Adding a turbo will aid the blower. The blower will provide volume of air sufficient to scavenge exhaust from cyl and provide freshinlet air. Adding a turbo will help by providing additional air. With more air available, now you can start building manifold pressure (boost). Now that you have the potential for a surplus of air, you can add more fuel. With 2 hair driers(turbos) you can add MORE fuel. This isn't an endless cycle, as now your blower may become the restrictive part of your intake system. Now your starting to dive into an area that may require a thermodynamic engineer, or someone with more money than should be allowed who has played with these theories. My money is on the guy who has played with 2 or more turbos. Seems there may be some companies who may be willing to assist with this proposition. Namely Turbo City in Fla. Hope this helps. Enjoy.

I agree with Craig. The second turbo would raise the compressor ratio and build more boost. On factory Detroit the rootes blower is slowed down giving the turbo the majority of the job of building boost. Where the power would really be made would be adding two turbo's in series.
