My dad is restoring an oliver 88 and needs to know if the system is posetive or negative ground. If you could let me know I would sure appreciate the information.

Thank you Mr. Stanley for your quick response to my question,However I can't tell which post is posative and which is negative.If you wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction it would be a big help.

Darrell,
Mr. Stanley is my dad. When you go to photopoint and open up the wiring diagram for the 88 HC, click on the photo to make it bigger. You should be able to decipher where the battery is in the drawing. The terminal at the bottem left corner of the battery is the postive terminal. It has a short cable that attaches as the ground. The termianl at the upper right on the battery is the negative post. It has a cable that goes to the starter switch. From the starter switch there is a cable that continues to the starter. Let me know if you have any more guestions. I know that drawing is not the easiest thing to follow, but that's how it is in my manual. Good Luck.

Paul thank you for your help.My dad said that he got the tractor started yestrday but it needs a new starter.He sounded pretty happy asthis will be his second tractor that he's restored,the first was a Farmall Super MD.He was glad to know that ther are people willing to share information and help.Thanks again Paul Stanley for the help.

P.S. Sorry for calling you Mr. its just the way I was raised.
