can someone please tell me what the cap. is for the hyd. res. to run the hyd. on this tractor i have been putting in fluid check the level it regester full on the stick only to find out the next time i check it it is off the stick there are no visible signs of leaking replace the filter a month ago now this dam thing. whis i would have let that sleeping dog lie..... ... any suggeastions ...thanks in advance ///ED

There are two seals on each side of the pump where the power shaft goes through,the book says install one seal with the lip in and the other one with the lip out. Forget that install both seals with the lip in towards the pump.

The hyd. oil is probably in the final drive area. Probably bad hyd. pump seal or leaking hyd. catch pan.

Ed , You have a plug on the side of the transmission case , ahead of the rear axle , somewhere around the disk brake houseing. That plug is for checking the level of the transmission oil. You would fill the transmission until oil starts to come out the hole. Pull that plug out.If oil keeps flowing out , then you know where your hydraulic fluid is. Cracked hydraulic pump , or bad hydraulic pump seals will let the fluid in the hydraulic reservor leak into the transmission.

SCOTT, THAT MAKES SENSE CHANGE THE FLUIDS BROUGHT LEVEL UP TO THAT PLUG .BUT NOTICE ON A TEST TO CHECK THE LEVEL PULL THE PLUG AND IT WAS AT LEAST 6QUTARS HIGH JUST THOUGHT WE OVER FILL AT THE TIME OF CHANGE..... ...SEC. QUESTION IS IT DIFFUCULT TO CHANGE THE PUMP SEALS.THASNK ED..

Ed , Clean off all dirt , oil , etc. from around hydraulic unit and PTO shaft area. Pull PTO shaft out of the tractor. This shaft runs from the flywheel of the tractor , through the hydraulic pump , to the clutch houseing for the PTO. Unbolt from tractor platform and lift out. The rest is self explanitory. This is not a hard job. Just take your time and do it right. Don't rush. Others may have time to go into more detail. I'm getting ready for work at the present.

Ed , I had forgotten to tell you to pull the shifting lever out before lifting the hydraulic unit out.
