1650 top link and a post hole digger ?????

I went to borrow a post hole digger from my uncle the other day and saw that it needed to hook into the standard type of top link, not the yoke type affair my 1650 has. anybody overcome this? I looked for different types of post hole diggers, but they all seem the same. I have seen the other type of top link on 1850's and such, never paid attention to how they hooked up, will one bolt on to my 1650 from another series, or am I lacking holes I would need? Any help appreciated, I would hate to borrow and break parts.

I had to build an adapter out of some flat iron
to hook to mine. I have heard of someone building
a bracket to hook a standard top link to a 1650
but i have not done it. It was easier for me to
build the little adapter.

Danhuser used to build one for the 1650. It replaced the center link and bolted into the four holes where the center link hooks up. You can make one real easy.

Ryan,
I was the one who answered the question in the archives. Remove the U-shaped bracket and existing toplink. You can make an adapter with a piece of pipe and a couple of pieces of flat steel. You can buy the piece from your local AG-CO dealer, however, they are a lot cheaper to make. I went in to the local dealer and asked for the piece. I took out my tape measure and measured the dimensions, gave the dealer the piece back and went home and made one myself. It bolts right in the same holes used to secure the factory U-shaped bracket.
