Yesterday I bought an Oliver trailer plow at an auction. Looks like everything is there, even the coulters, paid $100. A fellow there said it's the best plow ever made, he thinks the model is a Plowmaster 100. It has the roostercomb lift.

Now I have a couple of questions. Should it be hitched so the tractor's right wheel is in the furrow? It looks like the plow should be hitched in the middle of the drawbar and just let the wheel ride on the plowed ground. Also, does anybody have part numbers for points and shins to use in normal soil (not rocky or real heavy)? Thanks, Tom

I have a 2 14 plow like you describe that I pull with my HP70 at shows. I have the tractor wheels set in as far as possible and the drawbar set over to the right {looking at the back of the tractor} one hole, then adjust the plow hitch so the furrow wheel runs in the furrow and just clears or brushes the furrow wall. If you work with the cutter adjustment you can make a straight furrow wall. There are some adjustments for the tail wheel that may need some adjustment also. Varations in soil will make some differences in the settings of the plow so strike a happy medium and you will be alright. Go to www.Hart-Parr Oliver. org, click on photos to see picture. The tractor wheel should be in the furrow. The dealer or a farm store should have the points and shims, the new points are the same except the bolt size and the new may have 4 bolts rather than 3, just use the 3 bolts. Hope this helps. Delbert
